All our lead-free products are compliant with the Restriction of Hazardous Substances (ROHS) Directive which restricts lead in products.
No lead is used in manufacture of the products and the level of lead measured by certified labs is not detectable.
All radiation protection products have been tested for protection level in lead (Pb) equivalent in accordance with one or more of the following standards: American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standards F2547, #3094-14 and International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Standards 61331-1:2014 and 61331-3:2014.

Security Scanners
The protective flaps used on x-ray security scanners have traditionally been made of leaded rubber due to the lower cost of lead. XrayCurtains.com also offers a lead-free alternative made of tungsten to protect against scatter radiation. The lead-free curtain flaps have become more popular with increased concerns related to worker safety and disposal of lead.

Food Scanners
Radiation protection curtains used on food scanners are lead-free, as leaded products are not allowed in food manufacturing plants.

Industrial & NDT
While leaded shielding has been more common for industrial protection, we have seen an increase in use of lead-free radiation shielding.
Primarily the lead-free products are used in NDT applications where there is product contact and nuclear applications where any contaminated product requires disposal.
